Proverbs 27:5 NKJV Open rebuke is better Than love carefully concealed.
Correction and rebuke was one of the most welcomed acts in the early church. To be rebuked means to be sharply rectified or reprimanded. We live in a day and age where people don’t want to be corrected. Many people leave the church when they are corrected. People who don’t want to be corrected will say the following words; “I know I’m wrong I don’t need you to tell me. Don’t preach to me I have already learned my lesson. Who are you to tell me?” Most people have a problem with open rebuke, in front of others, but in this verse we learn it is much better than concealed love. It is therefore important to also be open and receptive toward rebuke and rectification.
I am open to be corrected or rebuked.
I am not obstinate or rebellious.
Package yourself to be willing to receive rebuke and correction.
Instead of becoming defensive and aggressive when you are wrong, become humble and submissive.
When you are rebuked or corrected, guard against the suggestions of satan to take offense. Don’t use the opportunity to look for faults and failures in the life of the person who corrects you.
As you start this day be bold and courageous, and open to learn and improve through correction in areas where there are room for growth.
Make someone’s day by sharing this Devotion with your friends, family, contacts and other groups.
