Lay hold of the favor of God
Psalm 5:12 NIV
[12] Surely, LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.
None of your children have to petition you to favor them, but their good behavior might open your heart and your hand wider. You cannot really pray and ask God to favor you. He favors you already, that’s why He sent His son to die for you. Disobedience might rob you from the liberty to freely receive His favor by grace through faith. Walking in obedience will embolden you to freely receive the favor of God.

Choose to walk in obedience toward God, not because you want your righteous works to release His favour, but because your righteous works is in response to His favour.
